Q: Do I need a special uniform?

A: We do train in a special uniform called a GI.  At first, especially if you are trying out BJJ to see if its something that you like, you do not need to go out an purchase one.  Just come to class in shorts or warmups and a t-shirt.  Make sure it is something comfortable and you can move around in (without buttons... cargo shorts are not a good idea).  If you decide that this is something you'll enjoy and will want to stick around in, we encourage you to purchase your GI.  There are many techniques that we use the GI with and you'll want to learn them.
